When in doubt, size up: families do not mind an urn that is slightly roomy, but an urn that cannot hold all the ashes is a guaranteed return. Will a paulownia urn crack?

Cracking is mostly a drying and moisture-control issue, not a paulownia flaw. Paulownia is low-density and stable; our lumber is dried and moisture-conditioned before machining, and finished pieces are sealed. Advise end customers to display indoors, away from prolonged direct sun or humidity. Solid wood moves slightly under extreme swings in temperature and humidity — a material characteristic, not a defect.

Lacquered MDF or solid wood?

Trade off by price tier and market narrative. Solid wood (paulownia, oak, walnut) carries natural grain for brand premium and for European markets that prefer natural materials; lacquered MDF gives a flat finish, brand-matched colors and steadier costs for volume and modern interiors.
